  • What’s new about problems in Lebanon?

In Lebanon, it’s always crisis after crisis, problem after problem. It’s always something. Something to trouble your mind, to keep you awake at night, sending you negative thoughts throughout the day, and so long so forth. If I even begin listing the problems we are currently facing in this country, I’d be up until tomorrow. That’s just a guess. So let’s just stick to the positive side today, and talk about one of the ways to help this country get back up on its feet. Or at least the economy part of this country. Or a part of the economy. However you want to put it. Let’s discuss “Local businesses in Lebanon”.

More specifically “why and how you should support local business in Lebanon?”

  •  A wild spread

Local business has been wildly spreading recently, it wasn’t that common before (not that I know of). But since the whole Covid-19 crisis, we were all stuck at home for a while, businesses started growing like weed! Because of course people lost their jobs, on a wide scale, and as a result, it was a must to find an alternative to survive in this country.

I’m not going to waste my time and yours listing all the local businesses or what they do or sell. Please go and check them yourself. I want to focus on two main ideas: how and why we should help these businesses grow. If you live in Lebanon you already know what I’m talking about.

  • Examples

In this case this is one link, if you are that interested, you can copy past it on Google if you want to find out more about why and how we should support local businesses in general. It mainly has 10 reasons:

In addition, I will give you only the name for one shop you can go to to search for beauty and personal care products:

  • Why?

Are you seriously asking this? People actually lost their jobs, their income, their only way to make a living to their families. The least we can do is try and support them. In Lebanon, we have a bad reputation in never being able to produce anything whatsoever, even tissue paper. But if you even take a look at the local businesses that opened in the past two years you’d change your mind. If these businesses continue to grow at these rate, who knows how much we can grow inside and outside the country. I won’t blab about this so that two long to not bore you. On one hand, you can just use Google to find out all about local business in Lebanon. on the other, trust me when I tell you that you WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED.

  • How?

The easiest ways to help are to promote and buy. not only you can promote from telling your friends, your family to posting on your social media accounts but also you can post content on your blogs for instance. Everyone has social media accounts. EVERYONE. Even if they tell you that they don’t use them, they do. Trust me. I know what I’m talking about. Speak well about local businesses, even if they sometimes are not as good as you thought they were, always try to help them grow, not take them down! Anything you can do to promote is considered helping. I’m not an expert in social media actually, this is why I might actually need your help to give me some ideas. I’m running out.

  • We are counting on you

I’m not here to post pictures or to write the most beautiful paragraphs. NO!

I can sit here and write the most beautiful blog ever (I did put an okay picture though), I’m sure others have, you’ll just enjoy it for 2 or 3 min and drop it, forget about it, or ignore it. But what’s the point if you don’t take the initiative? If you don’t take the responsibility toward this country (if you are Lebanese of course)?

If you don’t learn to take the initiative yourself, no one can help you. You can’t tell me that you don’t actually know one or two reasons why you need to shop local IN LEBANON.

ESPECIALLY IN LEBANON.

You need to know that local business in Lebanon is counting on YOU! You don’t need to shop EVERYTHING local, you can still order anything from anywhere you want, that’s not the issue. But don’t give up on local because you simply had one bad experience or it’s not as good as Chanel, or Guess, or Nike or Adidas etc. You are they key factor in this process. You need to get that and I’m not going to stop stressing on the word “you” until you do.

I’m doing my part, are you doing yours?

  • Forever in deep appreciation

Please don’t be at all shy about sharing your ideas! We are all in desperate need for your participation, your input, and your creativity. If I at least gave you the slightest push to even consider this, then you weren’t reading this short article for nothing, and for that I’m grateful.
