How to Support Small Businesses?
During this difficult time of Covid, Lebanon is facing an economic crisis. This is the main reason we should support the start-ups and small local businesses to be able to boost the economy and help each other.
A lot of people, especially those who didn’t work, are now trying to start their own business; either as a student in order to have an income, or as a mother to invest in her talent.
We have all noticed the number of business pages that appeared during the pandemic. During lockdown, a lot of people started a business out boredom but with time it turned out to be an actual job. For example, some women started selling homemade meals, some of them crochet stuff, or even handmade accessories.
I consider supporting and purchasing from small businesses as an act of love. Not only do u get an authentic product made with love & care, but you might be paying a house rent for a person, or helping in their college tuition.
Personally, to encourage you to support small businesses, the next time you decide to go get a coffee from a shop originated from a big chain like Starbucks, think of the old man who’s sitting in his coffee shop, and how happy he’ll be serving you his coffee with the rich taste he’s been brewing for the last forty years. Order that wool sweater knitted with passion and love instead of running to ZARA.
Support this business by sharing your experience with your family, recommending that shop to your friends, posting a snap on your Insta story! it’s really easy to do it, social media is insane.
I will be sharing with you some of my favorite local small businesses’ Instagram accounts:
