With the current situation of Lebanon downgrading immensely, many people are looking for their future outside the country. It has shown to be the only way to live a decent life where you don’t have to be worried about essential needs for survival such as availability of water, electricity, free healthcare system…With the economy drastically deteriorating because of the political issues and COVID-19 , it has become impossible to uphold a business unless there are fresh dollars being sent to you. Since the Lebanese lira’s worth has also been declining quickly, a dollar’s worth has increased immensely.
At such hard times for all Lebanese citizens, we should unite together to make sure we’re surviving properly, greed will not make us go forward but rather pull us down even more. So if you have the privilege of living abroad, a small contribution from your side (as small as 5$) will make a big difference in the life of a person surviving over something so little for food and shelter. However how is this possible? Most local businesses don’t know how to operate Etsy or Amazon accounts or even an advanced social media page…
This is where I introduce Watani. Watani means “My Country” in Arabic. It was created to make this step easier for small simple local businesses, such as the business of your widowed neighbor that sells dairy products or a business by a small entrepreneur trying to make worth out of their University Diploma. Young and elders are struggling to maintain an occupation with such jobless events. You could be the change of their life that they need most right now. Watani, unlike other e-commerce shops, does not take commission on each product but rather does it purely for the sake of the people in need. Multiple volunteers are on the lookout of small business that need help most, so they can boost their sales with marketing it on their website and social media pages. If you’re a small business struggling, you can become a vendor now by filling in a form.
Invest your money in helping out your people… the people who are enduring so much with nothing in return… from a devastating explosion to a deteriorating economy, we are unable to handle more.. so to move forward we should push each other and help each other out because no one else will do so for us.
