Support & Love: Lebanese local businesses
Despite the massive economic and financial crisis that Lebanon is going through, this crisis was beneficial in some aspects. Small businesses began to emerge in the Lebanese market. The skyrocketing prices of goods and services drove shops, malls, and commercial institutions to opt for local produce. We, Lebanese People, our duty is to support our Lebanese local businesses now.
Here some few tips that can help the process:
1- Social media presence:
2- Maintaining a reasonable margin of profits:
Given the economic recession that Lebanon faces, businesses’ owners must upgrade their margin of profit whereby they managing a reasonable revenue to keep them afloat. At the same time, they have to provide competitive prices given the immense financial disaster we’re going through. As a result, this would attract a greater number of customers.
3- Reviving local consumption
We, Lebanese people, play a huge role in supporting our local businesses. First, when we consider trying them over the imported product that we always buy. we should consider giving them a chance, in this crisis some of them have appeared to be better than the imported ones. Second, when we spread the word about it. Since local businesses have been in the dark for so long, telling our friends or families about a local product that we liked, will definitely help.
4- Crowdfunding
Lebanese people have value in themselves, and can use their talents to revive that sector. One way that can be achieved is through organizing community funds, better known as crowdfunding. In fact, such a tool would help amass the needed resources to help small enterprises, and the contributions are not exclusively of fiscal nature. Rather, they will be providing all elements that are as equally necessary to small business as actual money. Thus, Lebanese people can put their famous talents to use.
